"Android Device Manager" sounds quite official. Very pompous even I might add. For those that feel intimidated I would recommend them not to be. On the other hand for those who are enthused, I would recommend to calm down.

Android Device Manger is an official app that allows you to monitor the location of your devices. By connecting with you Google account, you will instantly have access to all of the devices associated with that account.
From the Main screen, you can force the device to ring for 5 minutes or until someone stoops it by using the Power button.

If you allow it, you can also order a lock or a data wipe, just not on the device that you're holding. You can also go to android.com/devicemanager to access the very same features from anywhere.

We need to mention that you don't need to enable Wipe and Lock from each respective device in order to access them online. Take care of your password.
